BeLoved Pet Sitting was established in 2010 by Susan Kaplan. Today we service more than 500 families every year in the San Diego area.

Our mission is to provide the best care to all pets both emotionally and physically. We strive to relieve the stress caused by changes of routine in your pet's life by seamlessly integrating our services into your lifestyle.

At BeLoved Pet Sitting we believe pets deserve the best care in every way, every day. While you’re away make sure they still get to play. We believe all cats and dogs deserve to stick to their usual routine while you’re gone, so we provide a wide range of services to best fit their needs.

We also believe pets should be “free range” and not cooped up in crates, boarding kennels or the tiny rooms at dog hotels. In your home care is the best pet sitting option as pets remain free of environmental stress triggers. Let them sniff their usual smells, keep on their potty schedule and remain on their own food all while sitting comfortably at home. Pets, just like children, appreciate structure and routine and a mentally healthy dog or cat is a happy pet! BeLoved Pet Sitting LLC is a professional pet care company. Our clients know that they are trusting their fur babies and their homes to a well-established, experienced, licensed, insured and bonded business. We are open 365 days a year from 7am-8pm. When you hire BeLoved Pet Sitting you’re not only hiring a pet sitter, you're hiring a licensed company with a team of professional employees that are bonded, insured, background checked, and pet CPR trained for the safety of your pets and home. All employees agree to the terms of our extensive handbook which covers all of the protocols they are expected to follow with regards to customer service, pet care, and home care. Your pet sitter was hand trained by the owner, Susan Kaplan, for at least 2 weeks, job shadowing each visit before they make their first solo visit. It’s true, we cost a couple of dollars more than hiring the kid next door, but peace of mind is priceless and that’s what we personally offer you.

Qualifications

Courses teach first aid techniques to address the most common emergencies that can occur with dogs and cats. Our pet sitters are trained to notice abnormalities and detect early warning signs in pets who may need veterinary help.

Our employees work through a 12 course online video class about pet sitting which covers everything from pet first aid to animal behavior modification.

All our employees are bonded and insured with the Business Insurers Of The Carolinas.

Meet The Team

Hi, my name is Susan Kaplan and I am the owner of BeLoved Pet Sitting. As a native San Diegan I've lived in Chula Vista, CA for 28 years. I majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship in 2013 from SDSU. I opened shop in 2010 at the ripe age of 18, right after I graduated high school because I saw a need in our city. I absolutely adore the work I do and I can’t think of a better way to spend my workday than with the affection of pets.

I run my company with employees because I am very diligent and hands on. What makes my company unique is that I am allowed to train my employees unlike 99% of the other companies in San Diego who hire temporary independent contractors. I take pride in training my staff to the highest standards in Pet CPR, First Aid, Animal Behavior and Customer Service.

Hello! I’m Ashley Harrison, animal enthusiast born here in California! Dedicating my life to animals, I’ve kept a multitude of both domestic and exotic pets! Be them cats or dogs or fish or anything in between, I’ve grown up with ever-growing knowledge in animal care and behavior. At this current point in time, my pet family consists of my cat, 3 rats, and a multitude of reptiles and inverts!

Hi, I’m Alexander Yang! I’m a marine biologist with an interest in animal behavior and ecology and have loved animals since day one. I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and have cared for many different animals such as birds, reptiles, rodents, and of course cats and dogs. Throughout my life I have gained a massive passion for the care and conservation of all kinds of life and will always do my best in everything I do. No one animal is the same, and I look forward to getting to know and cater to an animal's unique needs. In my free time I love creating terrariums and looking after my colony of isopods and millipedes!

Hi, I’m Megan Tavares! I’ve been an animal lover since I was a kid and grew up having dogs and cats as furry family members. My current furry family members are my dog Minnie and my cat Blu. I have pet sitting experience in many different environments including at a Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Costa Rica where I got to take care of baby sea turtles as well as 3 dogs! I understand the trust that’s needed when letting others take care of your pets and I take that responsibility very seriously. My favorite things to do in my free time are going to the beach and painting. I volunteer at the animal shelter in my spare time.
